Photography Competition Criteria

After a four year hiatus the highly anticipated NSW Weeds Conference Photography competition is back for 2017, showcasing the photography talents of Weeds Professionals and offering some great prizes!

This year there are 3 categories to enter:

  1. Weed Management – A single photo of any aspect of weed management – example: weed infestation, weed control or on the job ‘action shots’…etc.
  1. Plant ID – A set of no more than 5 photos to be used for the purposes of weed identification. Entries in this category will be judged on their quality and how clearly the photos demonstrate the characteristic features of the species.
  1. ‘Out and About’ – This new category is all about the image. Any aspect of your ‘day to day’ work as weed professionals can be entered here, whether it be a scenic shot, a sunset or sunrise, the view from your ‘smoko’ location, an animal encounter or anything interesting you’ve snapped during a days work – it can fall under this category as it is purely about the qualities that make a great photo.

Please note – all photographs submitted must have been taken within the boundaries of NSW and by the person submitting the photograph. Entry is open to Conference Delegates only.

Winners of each category will be announced at the formal conference dinner on Wednesday 18th October.

Email your entries to photocomp@newengland.nsw.gov.au (limit 20Mb per email) include your name, category, location and a brief description of the entry.

Entries close Midnight Monday 9th October 2017.
